Jerusalem's Wall Dedication

     Read Nehemiah 12:27-43. The people sought out the Levites and singers from surrounding areas to bring them to Jerusalem for the dedication of the wall.

     The priests and Levites purified themselves and purified the people. They also purified the gates and the wall. 

     Two great companies of princes and priests march in opposite directions around the top of the completed wall sounding trumpets of praise. The people march with them singing and shouting praises and thanks to God.

     They offered great sacrifices and rejoiced: for God had made them rejoice with great joy. The wives also and the children rejoiced: so that the joy of Jerusalem was heard afar off.

     What a glorious time these people had singing and praising the Lord. The completed wall was an answer to prayer and fasting. They worked together to complete the wall in a record time of fifty-two days. The labor and materials were all donated. What a mighty God we serve!
