The Empty Tomb

    When the sabbath had passed, Mary Magdelene, Salome, and Mary the mother of James came early as the sun was rising to the sepulcher. They brought sweet spices to anoint the body of Jesus.  As they were arriving they said among themselves who will help us roll away the stone from the door?

    They looked and saw the stone was already rolled away by an angel of the Lord    They entered in and saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were afraid.

    He said to them be not afraid.  You seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come see the place where the Lord lay.

    He told them to go quickly and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; He is going to Galilee and you shall see him there.

***The stone was rolled away not to let Jesus out, but so the witnesses could see in.

1 Corinthians 15:3-6

3) For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

4) And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.

5) And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:

6) After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.
