Story through Song

     Music can be a powerful influence in our lives. It can be inspiring, uplifting, and encouraging. The wrong kind of music can have the opposite effect and be a negative influence on our lives. The apostle Paul instructs the Ephesians to encourage one another in their faith using spiritual songs. (Eph. 5:19) I hope to do the same for you in this story, using a mix of 70 song titles and lyrics. 

     WHILE PASSING THROUGH THIS WORLD OF SIN, MY HOPE IS IN THE LORD. THE OLD RUGGED CROSS MADE THE DIFFERENCE; THE BLOOD WILL NEVER LOSE IT'S POWER!

     NOW I BELONG TO JESUS; HE DID IT ALL FOR ME. JESUS IS COMING TO EARTH AGAIN!  HE INCLUDED ME; Are you READY?  HE IS ONLY A PRAYER AWAY!

     As I travel through this life, I am in constant need. I pray Lord MAKE ME A BLESSING to everyone I see. I ask Him to FILL MY CUP LORD and to FILL MY WAY WITH HIS LOVE.  I want him to BREATHE ON ME, His breath of life, and SPEAK TO MY HEART from ABOVE.

     Sometimes I get off the beaten pathway; I see thorns ALONG THE ROAD. The FOOTPRINTS OF JESUS seem far away. My heart feels heavy as I carry my load. SOFTLY AND TENDERLY, I hear Jesus say, COME UNTO ME TRUST AND OBEY. 

     The loneliness is unbearable, JUST AS I AM. I MUST TELL JESUS in order to CLEANSE ME, again. I get DOWN ON MY KNEES and pray. 

     LORD, IM COMING HOME; I SURRENDER ALL to you today. With his AMAZING GRACE, MY BURDENS ROLLED AWAY.

     HEAVEN CAME DOWN, AND GLORY FILLED MY SOUL. THERE IS POWER IN THE BLOOD. I AM REDEEMED SAFE IN THE ARMS OF JESUS. HE SET ME FREE. MY SINS ARE GONE. HE'LL UNDERSTAND AND SAY WELL DONE. LEAVE YOUR SORROWS AND COME ALONG. 

     I LEAVE IT THERE, my sinful past. I walk in HEAVENLY SUNLIGHT back down the path. I say LORD LEAD ME ON, from this day forth. I'LL GO WHERE YOU WANT ME TO GO. I WILL SERVE THEE, Lord. The thorns turn into roses along the way!

     PRAISE GOD FROM WHOM ALL BLESSINGS FLOW. WHAT A MIGHTY GOD WE SERVE! LOVE LIFTED ME when I was low. WHAT A FRIEND WE HAVE IN JESUS! He is THE SOLID ROCK! WHERE HE LEADS ME, I WILL GO!

     I'M PRESSING ON THE UPWARD WAY! I'M A CHILD OF THE KING! I'VE GOT PEACE LIKE A RIVER! I'M STANDING ON THE PROMISES; I have the BLESSED ASSURANCE JESUS IS MINE! He gives us JUST A CLOSER WALK WITH THEE! I ONLY TRUST HIM; HE'S EVERYTHING TO ME!

   WE'LL WORK TILL JESUS COMES! WHAT A DAY THAT WILL BE! WHEN THE ROLL IS CALLED UP YONDER! We'll have THE MEETING IN THE AIR!  WHEN THE SAINTS GO MARCHING IN, WE ARE STANDING ON HOLY GROUND! WHEN WE ALL GET TO HEAVEN ON THAT GLAD REUNION DAY! FACE TO FACE WE SHALL SEE THE KING!
