The miracle of the storm
I want to share how God protected my family from harm during Hurricane Fran in 1996. Fran came ashore coastal NC with her fury as night was approaching. We lost power. We listened to the local news station on a battery-powered radio. We burned candles for light. The wind was gusting from 95 to 105 miles per hour. We could hear our shingles flapping on the roof and the constant roar of the wind.
I thought of the tall trees that were close to my bedroom. I had asked my dad the year before if he could take them down. He replied, "When I can get to it."
We all stayed in the living room as the winds howled all night. I knew God was in control, and I wasn't afraid. The next morning, I looked out of my bedroom window. The three big trees that concerned me were pulled up by their roots and were lying on the ground in a row. They should have fallen through my house. Instead, they fell in the opposite direction of the way they should have fallen. I look back at that day and marvel at how Good God was to spare my family. He even took the trees that I needed down. I praise him for it and for the way they fell.
