Trust and Obey
I recently walked out to the shed and carried my recycle items from my house recycle bin to a large trash can. I heard a cat frantically meowing. The cries were coming from inside my other shed. I had been in that shed temporarily the day before to use one of my husband's tools.
I got the key and opened the door to the shed. I called Kitty! Kitty! Finally, the cat meowed. He was on a shelf above the door of the shed. He had no way down; he looked weak and panicky. Fluffy is feral. He is a beautiful dark grey long-haired cat with gorgeous light green eyes. He doesn't come close because he doesn't trust humans. I told him, you have to trust me to get down. I took a four-foot-long and 12-inch wide sheet of plywood and held it up to the cat. I told him to step on the board. He stepped onto the board, and I lowered him down to the workbench below. He jumped off of the workbench and walked out the door of the shed.
Fluffy walked to the porch and ate from his feeding bowl. I walked over to him and told him he is not supposed to be in the shed. I reached down, and he let me pet him twice. I hate to think of what could have happened if I had found him much later in the day. The shed heats up on the inside like a car. It could have been a totally different story.
Sometimes life gets us down; we feel trapped like Fluffy with no way out. It is good to know God is our refuge. God made a way between him and us, and that was through His Son Jesus and His death on the cross for our sins. He is our bridge between life and death, heaven and hell. He rescued us from our despair. All we have to do is step out in faith and trust him. Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the Lord JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation. Isaiah 12:2
